Job description

Account Manager, Tax/Trade

We currently have a need for an Account Manager- Small Medium Business (SMB) within our USA market. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about a career in sales. This is an enterprise multi-proposition sales position where the selected candidate will be focused on driving business objectives to obtain commercial targets within defined commercial accounts. While working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, you will be challenged with proactively searching for leads and generating sales to help continue to develop this fast-growing business unit. This is a team-oriented group that promotes innovative thought and idea sharing.

About the Role:

In this opportunity as a Manager, you will:

  • Drive Results: Directly responsible for finding and building opportunities within commercial accounts in a defined territory; Utilize complex sales skills to guide prospects/clients through their purchasing decisions of Thomson Reuters products and services.

  • Sales Process: Manage sales cycle from identifying prospects, working with numerous internal teams to coordinate appropriate resources, all the way through closing the deal; Execute utilization of OneSource sales methodology.

  • Building Relationships: Manage relationships of customers post initial sale for upsell; Engage and build trusted relationships with Director, V, and C level executives

  • Communication: Maintain regular cadence with management and update timely all activities in our CRM (SFDC) and other applicable systems and tools.

  • Closing: Meet/exceed quarterly and annual quota targets.

  • Client and Market Intelligence: Provide territory market and competitive information to Thomson Reuters for internal business decisions and positions.

About You:

You're a fit for the role of Account Manager if you have:

  • Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales

  • 5 + years' experience in consultative sales, closing complex software and services sales, and maintaining customer satisfaction, knowledge in accounting/tax acumen is a plus

  • Proven track record selling consulting/professional services engagements, balancing new business prospecting, account growth, and upselling, with sustained and significant quota achievement.

  • Strong executive presence and C-suite engagement skills, with the ability to deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations to both small and large groups.

  • Experience developing accurate sales forecasts and reports to support management decision-making, while maintaining strong organizational and time-management skills in fast-paced, results-oriented environments.

  • Proven ability to execute innovative sales strategies and lead complex, strategic negotiations through successful agreement closure.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross-functional partnership skills, with success working closely with Sales Consultants, Lead Generation, Professional Services, Product Development, and Marketing.

  • Proficiency with core sales and business tools, including SFDC, email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, and expense/travel management systems.
