The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) is seeking an associate to join the Office Services team.

Work Schedule:
6:30am-3:00pm Monday through Friday.
General Summary:
Under the direction of the manager, Office Services and coordinator, Office Services, fulfill duties related to preparation and packaging of State Teachers Retirement System (STRS Ohio) publications; delivery and inventory maintenance of office supplies; processing internal and external mail and handling deliveries at the shipping and receiving dock.
Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Sort and deliver incoming United States Postal Service (USPS) mail, returned mail and scanned accountable packages from couriers.
  • Process shipping labels, certified mail and electronic return receipts using various systems.
  • Pick up, process and mail outgoing USPS, UPS, FedEx and local courier envelopes.
  • Make outside deliveries and pickups to the post office, Rhodes Tower and other Columbus-area government agencies as needed.
  • Assist in shredding sensitive documents as requested by customers within the organization.
  • Prepare various portfolio and brochure meeting kits accurately and by assigned deadlines.
  • Fill and deliver requisitions for supplies throughout the building and to the various supply rooms per delivery schedule and as requested.
  • Receive inventory and check thoroughly all items that come into supply to ensure correct items and quantity have been delivered.
  • Perform minor maintenance and/or place service calls on copier and fax machines throughout the building.
  • Provide customer service via e-mail, telephone, in person and at the customer counter.
  • Ensure STRS Ohio's shipping/receiving area follows the three main principles of dock management: communication, customer service and cleanliness.

Summary of Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of retail experience or other customer service positions preferred.
  • General knowledge of basic math required.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts required.
  • Above-average organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Proven ability to operate Microsoft Office programs and standard office equipment required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment while meeting deadlines with minimal direct supervision required.
  • Considerable standing, walking, carrying of packages and mail internally and between locations.
  • Ability to lift and move parcels of medium to heavy weight (up to 50lbs) required.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and safe driving record required.
