Prepare standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document organization's transactions. Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Advancement and other departments regarding endowment setups and earnings
  • Calculate and allocate monthly investment earnings
  • Work with Investment group to accurately record all investment activity
  • Reconcile and accurately record bond transactions
  • Maintain all bond-related schedules
  • Review and approve campus journal entries
  • Assist in month end and year end close process
  • Assist in preparation of ad hoc reports
  • Propose and implement process changes
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences
  • Experience in investment or bond-related accounting
  • Understanding of Financial Accounting Standards Board or Governmental Accounting Standards Board rules and guidelines
