Job description

Attorneys For Freedom is a pro-freedom criminal defense law firm located in Chandler, Arizona with a thriving national practice. We are the only law firm in the nation exclusively committed to self-defense cases and are the industry leader in self-defense legal coverage. We are searching nationwide, either in person or remotely, for the best self-defense attorney in the country who is an experienced, pro-freedom attorney who is passionate about self-defense cases to round out our team. While our law firm is located in Arizona, Arizona licensure is not required, as we operate as a national law firm. This is truly an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.
Our law firm services the Attorneys On Retainer program, with thousands of members throughout the country. The program has significantly increased in popularity over the last few years, as we continue to raise the bar in self-defense coverage. We are the only self-defense program in the industry that is run by a law firm, and every lawyer on staff specializes in self-defense cases.
*How the Attorneys On Retainer program works:*
Members throughout the country sign up with the Attorneys On Retainer Association by paying a one-time sign-up fee and a monthly membership fee. If a member is involved in a self-defense incident anywhere in the United States and is charged with a crime as a result, our legal team springs into action and zealously represents them. Our program boasts a national network of highly skilled criminal defense attorneys, who assist our team in getting admitted in the member’s local jurisdiction through the pro hac vice process and serve as local counsel. We represent our members in the pretrial phase, and all the way through trial if necessary, without any additional cost other than the price of their membership. We also provide a myriad of additional benefits, including bail coverage, expert fees, counseling, firearm replacement, and civil liability coverage in the event the member is sued in civil court.
An ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ experience as a criminal defense attorney and must have substantial jury trial experience representing clients in criminal cases where self-defense was alleged.
The candidate must be willing to travel throughout the United States and represent clients in self-defense cases for substantive hearings and trials, in accordance with local pro hac
vice rules and under the supervision of our network of local attorneys throughout the United States. Our law firm pays for all travel expenses and applicable admission fees.
The qualified candidate must have strong communication skills, be self-motivated, and possess a professional demeanor. An ideal candidate would be able to contribute to our program’s public outreach by appearing on our popular YouTube podcast to discuss case analysis and legal education, as well as traveling for trade shows and conferences. Additionally, our program has a dedicated interest in pro-freedom pro bono cases, representing indigent defendants charged in self-defense cases and filing appellate briefs involving important constitutional issues. A candidate would add value to our program’s mission by contributing to these pro bono pursuits.
