Job description

Contract-to-Hire | Remote | Shift Flexibility Required

We are seeking Store Technology Support Technicians to provide Tier 2 support for retail store technology across a nationwide retail environment.   • Wednesday - Sunday, 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST

What You'll Do

As a Store Technology Support Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the uptime, security, and stability of critical retail technology systems. You'll serve as an escalation point for store technology issues and work closely with vendors, service desk teams, and field technicians to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, including registers, card readers, printers, and related hardware/software
  • Support store network connectivity, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi, cellular failover, and internet circuits
  • Configure and maintain retail technology peripherals, including receipt printers, barcode/RFID printers, and security devices
  • Manage and support mobile devices such as tablets, phones, and handheld scanners
  • Monitor systems proactively to identify and resolve issues before they impact store operations
  • Log, triage, and document incidents using enterprise ticketing systems
  • Coordinate with service desk teams, internet providers, and field technicians on escalated issues
  • Assist with technology deployments, upgrades, and special projects

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of IT support experience, preferably in a retail or point-of-sale environment
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Experience supporting retail technology, POS systems, or distributed environments
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN connectivity, routers, and switches
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments
  • Familiarity with iOS/iPad support and mobile device management
  • Experience working with ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar systems
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Verifone payment devices
  • Experience with Juniper, Meraki, Arista, or Velo networking technologies
  • PowerShell or basic scripting experience
  • Desktop, Help Desk, or Tier 2 support background
  • Hardware repair and replacement experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairlawn, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
