POSITION SUMMARY:

The Network System Administrator position on the Network Core & Security team will participate in the day-to-day administration, support, and ongoing enhancement of Menard, Inc.’s enterprise network infrastructure.  Applicants should have experience or training supporting mission-critical network environments, maximizing system uptime, and maintaining performance.  Candidates must be able to work in a secure, mission-critical production-computing environment.  The position will be responsible for installing and maintaining networks in corporate, distribution, manufacturing, and retail locations.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Network Maintenance & Support:

  • Participate in the day-to-day maintenance of Menard’s Data Center systems.
  • Network Segmentation solutions (Firewalls)
  • Core Routing/Switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, Application Centric Networking)
  • Storage Networking Solutions
  • User Authentication and Certificate Management
  • Application Layer Load Balancing (L4-L7)
  • Provide technical support to Menard’s corporate staff’s network communication and security needs
  • Provide remote access support for Menards staff and vendors.
  • Identify, investigate, resolve and document problems
  • Monitor network uptime, capacity, performance, and security threats.
  • Configure and maintain network management and IPAM systems

* New Systems:

  • Work with Management and Senior Level Team Members to design complex data center communication, security, and authentication solutions
  • Implement network equipment and management tools
  • Support all physical cabling, hardware, and network management tools within the data center environments.

* Development:

  • Analyze all aspects of the systems and develop/implement plans to improve items such as utilization, capacity and performance
  • Keep informed and educated on emerging technologies
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies, platforms, protocols and applications in order to meet Menard, Inc.’s business requirements
  • Develop policy and procedure documentation for new and existing systems
  • Design, deploy, and maintain a high level of network segmentation companywide.
