The Retail Strategy Manager is responsible for leading and executing retail initiatives across Spurs Sports & Entertainment's franchises, brands, and sales channels. This role owns the development, planning, and performance of retail programs, with a focus on driving revenue growth, enhancing the fan experience, and strengthening brand presence across local, regional, and global markets.
This position partners cross-functionally with Marketing, Partnerships, E-commerce, and external vendors to develop product strategies, optimize retail performance, and execute integrated retail campaigns. The Manager plays a key role in identifying opportunities, driving innovation, and ensuring operational excellence across all retail touchpoints.
Success in this role requires strong business acumen, project ownership, and the ability to translate data and insights into actionable strategies.
What You'll Do:
Retail Strategy & Program Ownership
  • Lead the development and execution of retail strategies across all SS&E brands, with a focus on driving revenue, brand visibility, and fan engagement.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new retail initiatives, product opportunities, and market expansions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align retail strategies with broader organizational goals and campaigns.

Product Development & Merchandising
  • Own product development initiatives, including Spurs private label (e.g., Bexar Goods), from concept through launch and lifecycle management.

  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to develop product assortments, pricing strategies, and merchandising plans.
  • Monitor product performance and make recommendations on assortment, inventory, and lifecycle adjustments.

Performance & Financial Management
  • Analyze retail performance across channels using dashboards, sales data, and reporting tools to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Develop forecasts, track key performance indicators, and identify opportunities to improve revenue and operational efficiency.
  • Manage retail calendars across multiple timelines (including long-range planning up to 36 months), ensuring alignment with product launches, campaigns, and key events.

Operations & Execution
  • Oversee retail operations including internal orders, invoicing processes, and coordination across departments.
  • Ensure retail systems, assets, and data are accurate and maintained across platforms and marketing channels.
  • Partner with E-commerce and retail operations teams to ensure seamless execution across physical and digital retail channels.

Cross-Functional & Vendor Management
  • Serve as primary point of contact for retail-related initiatives across Marketing, Partnerships, Creative, and external vendors.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including product development partners, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Support integrated campaigns, sponsorship activations, and retail-driven fan engagement initiatives.

Other
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of retail administrative or equivalent educational experience.
  • At least two (2) years in a management or administrative role within a licensed retail or consumer product company; experience in sports or entertainment is preferred.
  • At least three (3) years in a customer service environment.
  • At least two (2) years of in licensing and intellectual property rights.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in retail planning, financial planning, or analytics, or equivalent educational background.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to move throughout retail, office, and event environments.
The employee must be able to:
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments, including event-based settings.
