Job description

Our client, a well-established women’s clothing retail store, is seeking a hands‑on Retail Operations Manager with expertise in store operations, sales team leadership, customer service, and back‑office management. The ideal candidate must have a strong retail management background and the ability to lead a dynamic sales team while keeping the entire operation organized, accountable, and running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a retail sales team, setting clear expectations for sales performance, customer service, attendance, productivity, and accountability.
  • Oversee daily store operations and ensure the sales floor, staffing, back office, inventory, and administrative functions operate efficiently.
  • Drive sales performance by monitoring individual and team results, coaching employees, addressing performance gaps, and maintaining a strong service-focused sales culture.
  • Manage employee scheduling and floor coverage to ensure appropriate staffing during peak periods while controlling labor costs and maintaining productivity.
  • Establish clear operating procedures and improve workflows across sales, customer service, inventory, and back‑office functions.
  • Maintain a polished, organized, customer‑ready store environment that reflects the standards expected of a women’s fashion retailer.
  • Oversee inventory coordination, receiving, stock organization, merchandise movement, and inventory accuracy to support product availability and minimize operational issues.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of retail management, store management, retail operations, or comparable leadership experience, preferably within fashion, apparel, specialty retail, or a high-touch customer environment.
  • Proven experience directly managing and motivating a sales team with responsibility for employee performance and accountability.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, including scheduling, inventory management, customer service, sales floor management, and back‑office administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales results while maintaining an elevated and personalized customer experience.
  • Strong people‑management skills with the confidence to coach employees, manage different personalities, address performance issues, and maintain a positive but accountable work environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving retail setting.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with the maturity to work closely with ownership and independently make day‑to‑day operational decisions.
