A retail stocker's primary responsibilities are to review incoming merchandise, unpack products, and organize items on shelves or in storage. In this position, you ensure the correct product is present in deliveries you receive, mark boxes and items with codes and price tags, maintain inventory, set displays, restock items on the sales floor, and keep accurate records of sales. Your duties may require heavy lifting to move merchandise. You also assist with filling customer orders received via phone, internet, or mail and prepare products for shipping. A retail stocker may work in a store, stockroom, warehouse, or other storage facility.
