Job description

We employ over 600 associates just in our retail stores alone. GESMV also offers over 40 programs and services to the community ranging from job readiness programs to assistive technology services. We offer part-time and full-time positions, with a variety of schedules and hours available. We are always looking for driven, enthusiastic people to join our team.
Summary
Responsible for a variety of duties involved in the handling, marking, preparing, and maintaining stock levels of resale items. Works in one or more departments within the store (i.e., grocery, warehouse, produce, etc.)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Clean all shelves and molding every night.
  2. Front, Face, and Straighten all products assigned to your aisle. This means that all stock on the shelf will be in a straight line from front to back, and from left to right. All stock will be facing forward.
  3. Repair all labels.
  4. Dust and clean all products on the shelves.
  5. Remove all damaged items and expired merchandise to salvage area located in warehouse at the end of your shift.
  6. Report all damage caused by you.
  7. Remove all (orphans) stock not belonging in that aisle to the end of your aisle.
  8. Remove all cardboard to the baler, and load cardboard in baler.
  9. Rotate all stock daily that has an expiration date and all other stock monthly according to the FIFO (First In / First Out) method.
  10. Stock only full cases. At no time will you hide stock anywhere on the shelf. If a full case will not go up, you will not put it on the shelf.
  11. All stock that will go on the shelf will be put on the shelf. Before a case is identified as an overwrite, you will count the empty shelf space making sure the case will not go up.
  12. Stock merchandise on allocated shelf space and display area.
  13. Adhere to designated number of item facing.
  14. Return overwrites and items not stocked to warehouse.
  15. Participate in hazardous food recalls.
  16. Participate in annual inventory.
  17. Determine stock replenishment.
  18. Participate in emergency stocking activities.
  19. Use carts and manual pallet jacks to move items.
  20. Return empty skids to bailer area
  21. Clean up spills and broken items.
  22. Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  23. When required, wear protective clothing.
  24. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
  25. Other duties may be assigned.
  26. Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, HIPAA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements
Knowledge of warehouse process as it relates to orders. Previous shelf stocking experience helpful.
Qualifications

  • Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

  1. Ability to prepare, arrange, or stack items together for safety and neatness; rotate old stock.
  2. Ability to recognize and report items of poor or unacceptable quality.
  3. Ability to operate a manual pallet jack in a safe manner.
  4. Ability to match names, numbers and size of items on shelves, counters and storage areas to those in order and price lists to locate items in storage, replenish grocery shelves, and, if necessary, mark with proper price.
  5. Ability to understand general layout of the store and location of displays to help customers locate items on display or to obtain items for customers from backup storage areas, as requested.
  6. Ability to function in a military setting.
