Job Description

Position               : Integration & Middleware Developer

Location               : Middletown, PA Hybrid

Duration              : 02/02/2026 to 06/30/2026
Overview
Our client is seeking an Integration and Middleware Developer to design, implement, and optimize complex enterprise integrations supporting a tolling environment. This role focuses on high-volume, mission-critical integrations across SAP, CRM, cloud, IVR, and middleware platforms while ensuring performance, reliability, security, and observability.
Key Responsibilities

  • Connect enterprise systems including SAP S/4HANA, SAP BRIM, Dynamics 365 CRM, Azure services, cloud telephony, IVR, web portals, mobile apps, middleware platforms, document management systems, and external integrations.
  • Analyze solution components and integration models to support scalable architectures.
  • Assess and implement integration approaches for high-volume processing.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and decentralized microservices using best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce data replication and simplify integration patterns.
  • Lead complex solution design and implementation leveraging SAP, CRM, Azure, IVR, and external systems such as payment gateways and backend databases.
  • Design and optimize IVR systems integrated with CRM and tolling backends.
  • Optimize transaction performance, latency, and reliability and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Build middleware workflows supporting telephony, IVR, web, and mobile platforms.
  • Apply encryption and data protection standards for sensitive customer and payment data.
  • Implement observability using logging, monitoring, and tracing tools.
  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing activities.
  • Produce full technical and functional documentation following Commission templates.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, vendors, and project managers.
  • Work independently while adhering to all Commission standards, policies, and procedures.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of integration or middleware development experience including 3+ years in a senior or lead role.
  • 7+ years of backend development using .Net.
  • 5+ years of backend development using Python.
  • 3+ years of backend development using GoLang.
  • Strong experience with RESTful API design and decentralized microservices.
  • At least 2 projects using decentralized event-based microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding of concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization in Go and .Net.
  • Hands-on experience with Podman and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years building high-volume enterprise integrations across SAP, Dynamics 365 CRM, and Azure.
  • Hands-on IVR design and optimization experience in customer-facing environments.
  • Experience integrating SAP BRIM for subscription billing.
  • Retail POS or eCommerce and CRM integration experience.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka or Azure Event Hub.
  • Experience with message queues including Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Advanced certifications in Azure, Kubernetes, or integration platforms.

Onsite and Travel Requirements

  • Onsite presence required one week per month at Commission facilities in Middletown, PA.
  • Post go-live onsite support may require rotating 1 to 2 week onsite periods for up to six months after go-live.
  • Orientation requires full-day onsite attendance to pick up Commission-issued equipment.
  • Travel costs for orientation and equipment pickup are not reimbursed.
  • If within 3 hours commuting distance, travel is included in the rate.
  • Authorized travel must follow federal GSA reimbursement guidelines.

Background and Onboarding Requirements

  • Pennsylvania ePATCH criminal history check dated after SOW release.
  • National Criminal Background Check required prior to start.
  • Completion of onboarding documentation, Acceptable Use policy, access agreements, and NDA as applicable.
