We currently have an opening for a Electro Mechanical Technician at our Mountaintop Facility.
This is a 2nd shift position, Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Purpose: This employee will be proficient in a multi-craft skillset. They will be able to do
things such as: Replace motor drives (one for one), connect to PLC and
troubleshoot ladder logic, full schematic reading capability, cross reference sensors,
control panel wiring, proficient with a multi-meter and deep dive troubleshooting,
and parameter adjustments. This employee will be required to work overtime as required.
Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
  • Take an active role in trainings and developing their skills in controls
    and automation as required.
  • Participate in software and schematic updates to insure updated
    documentation of Cornell equipment.
  • Help support the shift they are assigned to as well as others that
    has the breakdown where the current staff can't resolve a downed piece of equipment.
  • Be assigned work in the Preventive Maintenance areas, Projects, and
    machine breakdowns as required.
  • Work in a safe guarded manor for their safety and the safety of all
    others. They will follow all LOTO rules of Clopay.
  • Responsible to test all repaired control devices before putting in
    storage. They will need tagged to identify dates of repair and condition of device.
  • Complete work assignments in the Maintenance "work order/
    PM" system.
  • Conduct themselves in a manner that supports a "Ship, Shipmate, Self"
    concept where team work is key to our success.

Job Requirements:
  • Ability to troubleshoot programs and modify/ edit existing programs for
    PLC's, HMI's, or CNC controllers.
  • Capable of wiring and building control panels for newly developed
    machines built in house.
  • Proficient in the use of quality inspection tools such as calipers,
    micrometers, tape measure, etc.
  • Proficient in using digital volt meters, amp meters
  • Adept at reading and understanding CAD and product drawings.
  • Ability to count and perform simple math operations to determine
    information such as weight, temperature, and quantity.
  • Work harmoniously and effectively as part of a work team.
  • Proficient with PCs and micro soft word.
  • Close, distance, and peripheral vision.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to discern colors and adjust focus.

Education:
  • Associates Degree in Controls and Automation;
  • or High School/GED with 7 - 10 years experience in
    Automation and Controls in a manufacturing environment
  • Licenses/Certification: Crane and Fork trucks preferred
