Job Description

The Director of Retail – Empower Field is responsible for overseeing all retail operations for the Broncos Team Store and outlets, with accountability for business performance, financial results, merchandising strategy, operational excellence, and delivering an exceptional fan and guest shopping experience. The role also drives long-term growth initiatives, strategic planning, and overall program success.

  • This role serves as the senior-most retail leader for the account and establishes the strategic direction and growth priorities for the retail program in alignment with client objectives, contractual commitments, and Aramark’s operational and financial standards.
  •  Day-to-day retail operations are overseen by the Director of Retail with primary execution by the retail operations team, allowing this role to remain focused on long term value creation, financial outcomes, and future growth.
  • The Director of Retail provides enterprise-level leadership for the retail business by setting visions, defining priorities, and maintaining accountability for outcomes across all retail channels, including concert retail, brick-and-mortar locations, purchasing, and warehouse-supported fulfillment.
  • This role leads through established retail leadership structures and focuses on strategy, governance, performance oversight, and future development while overseeing day-to-day operational execution.

In partnership with District and National Retail Aramark leadership, the Director of Retail contributes strategic insight, growth perspective, and best-practice sharing that support account-level success and broader district retail objectives. This position carries full accountability for financial performance, growth planning, leadership effectiveness, and the continued evolution of the retail program at Empower Field.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.  This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.​

Job Responsibilities
  • Establish long-term direction and priorities for the retail business, setting strategic objectives, operating principles, and financial targets aligned with client expectations and Aramark standards
  • Maintain full accountability for retail financial performance, including revenue growth, margin performance, expense management, and overall P&L results
  • Serve as the primary senior level retail liaison for the account, owning executive-level and top-to-top client communication, product presentation, performance reviews, and forward-looking planning discussions
  • Provide strategic oversight across all retail channels to ensure alignment, readiness, and consistency with established standards and growth objectives
  • Set clear governance models, performance expectations, and operating rhythms that enable effective execution and accountability across retail
  • Guide the development of annual and multi-year retail business plans, including growth initiatives, financial goals, and channel strategies
  • Partner with Finance to develop budgets, assess performance trends, and identify risks and opportunities that support sustained business results
  • Oversees product selection and development from inception to delivery, recommending purchases and inventory levels based on consumer and market trends, sales strategies and financial goals as defined for each category and outlet
  • Ensure appropriate controls and risk management practices are in place related to inventory, labor, cash handling, safety, and compliance without direct involvement in daily operations
  • Use performance data, reporting, and market insight to evaluate results, inform decisions, and guide continuous improvement efforts
  • Lead initiatives focused on advancing operational efficiency, guest experience, service quality, and long-term retail outcomes
  • Identify and recommend new concepts, innovations, and enhancements that evolve the retail program and support future growth
  • Support contract renewals, extensions, and strategic initiatives through strong performance leadership and collaboration
  • Contribute strategic insight, leadership perspective, and best practices that support district initiatives as applicable
  • Work with HR department to hire staff, ensure proper staffing for events, staying within payroll budget
  • Oversee development and training of customer service programs and product knowledge
  • Support leadership development and succession planning to ensure organizational depth, continuity, and long-term success

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive retail leadership experience, including senior-level responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience with full P&L ownership and financial performance management
  • Proven ability to lead complex retail organizations with senior leadership teams
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and sound business judgment
  • Excellent executive communication skills and client-facing presence
  • Experience in contract-managed, multi-unit, or venue-based retail environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, retail management, or a related field
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business reporting tools
  • Ability to work a flexible, event-based schedule as business needs require
  • Occasional travel may be required
