The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country, with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR, and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit, while Live Nation produces more than 30 headline concerts annually at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is an amusement park featuring more than 30 attractions and experiences, including first-of-their-kind roller coasters.


The Assistant Manager, Park Retail Operations assists with the daily operation of COTALAND's retail merchandise locations by supporting store teams, delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring operational excellence. This position works closely with the Retail Manager to execute operational priorities, support sales initiatives, oversee daily store activities, and provide leadership to Team Leads and Retail Associates.


Requirements:
  • Assist the Retail Manager with the daily operation of assigned retail merchandise locations.
  • Supervise, coach, and support Team Leads and Retail Associates to ensure excellent guest service and operational consistency.
  • Help execute merchandising plans, product placement, promotional displays, and visual merchandising standards.
  • Monitor daily sales performance and assist in achieving revenue and operational goals.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving, replenishment, cycle counts, transfers, and inventory accuracy.
  • Support loss prevention initiatives and ensure compliance with cash handling policies and operational procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling, labor planning, and daily staffing assignments to meet business needs.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new retail team members.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing development for frontline employees.
  • Serve as the acting leader during assigned shifts and provide operational support in the absence of the Retail Manager.
  • Partner with Warehouse, Safety, and other park departments to support daily operations and special events.
  • Assist with seasonal store setups, merchandise launches, inventory projects, and event preparation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready retail locations while ensuring all safety and company standards are followed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of retail operations, including guest service, merchandising, inventory management, and cash handling.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop retail team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of POS systems, inventory management systems, and employee scheduling software.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a theme park, entertainment venue, hospitality, or high-volume retail environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or Team Lead.
