Job description

East Coast Cannabis is seeking a Retail Supervisor to support daily retail operations, guide Retail Associates on the sales floor, and help deliver exceptional, compliant customer experiences. This role plays a key leadership presence during operating hours, supporting store flow, sales performance, and team engagement while adhering to Maine Adult Use regulations and ECC best practices.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys working with others, staying customer-facing, and stepping in as the point of leadership when managers are unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

Store Leadership & Operations

  • Open and close the retail store following the Manager Opening and Closing checklist
  • Act as the on-site store leader when Assistant Retail Managers or the Store Manager are not available
  • Support Retail Associates during operating hours to ensure smooth customer flow and effective sales interactions
  • Uphold ECC security standards and operational protocols

Customer Experience & Sales Support

  • Assist with high-touch customer interactions and transaction processing
  • Reinforce store sales goals as directed by the Retail Manager
  • Provide knowledgeable, compliant product recommendations
  • Serve as a resource for Retail Associates on sales techniques, product knowledge, and brand standards

Product & Cannabis Knowledge

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of all retail products and accurately represent them in alignment with ECC brand standards
  • Demonstrate cannabis knowledge including industry trends, local regulations, testing standards, and manufacturing methodologies
  • Share product and cannabis education with team members to support confidence and compliance

Inventory & Merchandising

  • Receive cannabis and non-cannabis inventory following ECC inventory receipt protocols
  • Perform basic inventory management, including daily counts and reconciliation
  • Maintain organized inventory storage, handling, and movement
  • Merchandise and zone store inventory to maintain visual and brand standards

Cash Handling & Administrative Tasks

  • Perform accurate cash handling, register counts, and transaction processing
  • Assist with basic updates to in-house menus, displays, and printed materials

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Some college prefered 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years customer service experience required
  • Retail, sales, or restaurant experience required
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required

Schedule & Compensation

Full-Time position

  • Must be available for opening and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Retail operating hours: 7:00 AM – 9:30 PM

Required Skills
