The Retail Marketing Manager is a hands-on, field-facing role responsible for the tactical execution of in-store merchandising and promotions across Far & Dotter locations, paired with a strategic eye toward building long-term brand equity. This person lives at the intersection of operations and brand: the immediate need is to be in stores making sure displays, signage, and promotions are executed to standard day one. But the future of this role will be in shaping the brand's retail identity and customer experience. Success requires equal comfort with a planogram and a brand brief.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
In-Store Execution & Merchandising
  • Own the tactical rollout of merchandising standards, planograms, and visual displays across all Far & Dotter locations, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Manage the production, distribution, and installation of in-store signage, POP/POS materials, menus, and promotional collateral.
  • Coordinate and execute in-store promotions, product launches, vendor days, and seasonal campaigns, working closely with retail operations and store teams.
  • Conduct regular store visits and audits to ensure brand and merchandising standards are being met; troubleshoot and resolve execution gaps in real time.
  • Partner with cultivation, manufacturing, and category teams to align in-store presentation with product availability and priorities.
  • Manage local vendor and print relationships, timelines, and budgets for retail marketing materials.

Brand Building (phase II of role)
  • Help define and evolve the Far & Dotter retail brand identity, ensuring every customer touchpoint reflects a consistent, elevated, and differentiated experience.
  • Translate brand strategy into tangible in-store expression-store environment, customer journey, and experiential moments.
  • Develop and support local store marketing initiatives, community engagement, and loyalty-building efforts that drive traffic and retention.
  • Collaborate with digital, social, and creative teams to ensure alignment between in-store and online brand presence.
  • Track the performance of merchandising and promotional efforts and use insights to refine both tactical execution and brand strategy.

Compliance
  • Ensure all marketing materials, displays, and promotions comply with Maryland cannabis advertising and marketing regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5+ years of experience in retail marketing, field marketing, visual merchandising, or trade marketing; multi-location retail experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to execute merchandising and promotional programs at the store level with attention to detail and consistency.
  • Demonstrated brand-building sensibility-able to think beyond execution to how the retail experience shapes brand perception.
  • Strong project management skills; able to juggle multiple locations, timelines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on, field-based environment with regular travel between store locations.
  • Cannabis, CPG, wellness, hospitality, or beauty/lifestyle retail experience is a plus.

  • Based in Maryland with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
