Job description

Calpine, a business unit of Constellation Energy Corporation (Nasdaq: CEG), is America's largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources with operations in competitive power markets. Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)

This position will support the lead and senior analysts of ISO/RTO market settlements for assigned market(s) and will report directly to the Manager of Market Settlements.

Job Responsibilities:

ISO/RTO Invoice Processing:

  • Understand settlement rules, timelines, supporting files and reconcile the ISO/RTO market settlement statement, for assigned market(s)
  • Download, summarize and present the ISO/RTO market invoice to the lead market Analyst or Settlements Manager/Director.
  • Provide support and coding to Accounting, to process the ISO/RTO payment and ensure invoices are processed timely and accurately.
  • Summarize market changes and trends to lead Analyst and/or Manager/Director.
  • Work with lead Analyst and/or Manager/Director to troubleshoot, investigate discrepancies and streamline invoicing processes.

Data Reporting

    • Quarterly filing of FERC EQR for assigned market(s)
    • Provide timely and accurate ISO-published data to both external and internal customers, both on an ongoing basis and ad hoc

    Ad hoc support

      • Assist lead/senior analysts in researching and responding to inquiries from Front/Mid/Back-office personnel regarding assigned market(s) and related tasks
      • Provide support to lead/senior analysts for miscellaneous projects and requests

      Job Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mathematics, business, economics or at least 3 years of equivalent work experience
      • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
      • Ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner, tailored to the respective audience
      • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
      • Ability to identify issues, analyze data, recommend and implement solutions
      • Advanced proficiency in Excel preferred
      • Basic understanding of energy markets, metering, retail energy settlements preferred

      Salary Range 

      $70,304 - $88,449.38
