Job description

SUMMARY

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of complex mission critical construction projects. In this role, you will coordinate field leadership, subcontractors, and project stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and engineers and plays a key role in driving project performance and financial success. The Project Manager reports to and is directly accountable to the Project Executive. 

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Hire, train, evaluate, and manage all assigned personnel, following established company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Develop and implement normal operating procedures for overall project operations.
  • Approve material purchases and equipment rentals not covered in the estimate and not on hand or available.
  • Act as company representative in negotiations with the owners.
  • Approve the purchase of tools and supplies on jobsite.
  • Approve all contract agreements and cost of all outside repairs of equipment assigned to the site(s).
  • Review reports used by Ajax to keep top management accurately informed as to the effectiveness of the management of time, cost, quality and safety.
  • Oversee preparation of the project budget & project schedule.
  • Audit any activities and details associated with and needed for an efficient, profitable project, from contract signing to conclusion of warranty period.
  • Maintain strong commitment to active participation in the company's Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Maintain good relations with project teams, subcontractors, and owners.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8-10+ years of relevant construction project management experience.
  • Strong experience managing mission critical / data center projects from conception to completion.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering or related field. 
  • General Contractor License preferred.
  • Strong understanding of industry practices and trends and their impact on the corporation. 
  • Advanced interpersonal, communicative, and organizational skills.
