Position Responsibilities:
Demonstrate customer engagement skills through all levels of an organization including C-Suite. Maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of existing and developing technologies relating to cloud computing, to unlock opportunities for customers. Possess a strong background in change management and incorporating organizational change best practices seamlessly into project delivery. Accelerate customer adoption through education and engagement. Assist customers in identifying use cases for priority adoption of AWS and best practice implementations. Assist in developing long-term strategic relationships with key accounts. Manage time efficiently, meet personal goals, and work effectively with other members of the sales and marketing team. The Technical Customer Solutions Manager (CSM) III is a customer-facing technical role within AWS's Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods organization, serving enterprise customers in the retail, consumer packaged goods, e-commerce, everyday-essentials, and restaurant industries. The role is not a sales role (no revenue quota), not a contracting role, and not a people-management role (supervises no employees).
1. Processes, equipment, systems, projects, and products: The role involves working with AWS cloud services across compute, storage, database, migration, modernization, analytics, generative AI, and enterprise SAP workloads (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora, AWS Transform, Amazon Bedrock, SAP on AWS). Projects include cloud migrations, application modernization, SAP migration and support, and AI/GenAI adoption programs across the customer's application portfolio.
2. Function: The role involves a combination of technical consulting, adoption program management, and project coordination. This role provides technical implementation guidance and consulting; the role does not perform direct sales, does not carry a sales quota, and does not execute or sign contracts.
3. Daily tasks supporting AWS adoption: Conducts customer discovery to identify cloud, SAP, and AI use cases; builds and executes adoption, migration, and modernization plans; leads technical enablement workshops and Experience-Based Acceleration (EBA) engagements; tracks adoption metrics and service consumption; identifies and removes technical and organizational blockers; and reports progress to customer and internal
stakeholders.
4. Customers and internal teams: Interacts with customer technical and business stakeholders, from engineers and IT managers to VP and C-suite executives, to align technical work with business outcomes. Internally, coordinates with Account Managers, Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and specialist teams to orchestrate delivery.
5. Authority: Manages adoption initiatives and project workstreams and coordinates cross-functional teams. Does not supervise employees, has no hiring authority, does not make sales decisions, and has no independent authority over contracts, budgets, or timelines; provides technical and adoption recommendations that inform customer and account-team decisions.
6. Tools and methods: AWS management and analytics consoles, CRM and opportunity-tracking systems, migration and modernization tooling (e.g., AWS Transform), SAP migration frameworks, and EBA, Working Backwards, and organizational change-management methodologies.
