Job description

As a Rotational Banking Associate, you will gain hands‑on experience across multiple areas of community banking. This unique rotational role is designed to give you exposure to retail banking, finance, and operations - helping you build a strong foundation while contributing to the day‑to‑day success of the Bank. You’ll also gain exposure to emerging tools, including AI-supported solutions, that help improve efficiency, accuracy, and service.


You’ll serve as a shared resource across teams, stepping in where business needs are greatest while developing the skills and knowledge needed for long‑term growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and learning how all areas of the bank work together.


How You’ll Make a Difference – The Viking Way

Support customers and front-line operations

  • Provide backup teller coverage during peak times and scheduled absences
  • Process transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments
  • Balance cash drawer and assist with end‑of‑day procedures
  • Deliver a positive, professional customer experience
  • Follow bank policies and procedures related to identification, fraud prevention, and compliance

Assist with finance and accounting functions

  • Support accounts payable processing and invoice tracking
  • Assist with monthly close activities and account reconciliations
  • Help maintain accurate financial records through data entry and verification
  • Contribute to financial reporting and general ledger support activities

Provide operational and administrative support

  • Process daily mail and assist with document organization and filing
  • Provide administrative support across multiple departments
  • Assist with special projects and cross‑functional initiatives
  • Support operational tasks that help maintain efficient workflow across the Bank

Collaborate, adapt, and grow across teams

  • Work under the general direction of the CFO with day‑to‑day guidance from department leaders
  • Shift responsibilities based on business priorities and staffing needs
  • Build relationships across all areas of the Bank
  • Contribute wherever support is needed to keep operations running smoothly

Training & Development

This role is intentionally designed to build a strong foundation in banking through hands‑on experience and structured learning, including:

  • Teller operations and cash handling
  • Financial and accounting fundamentals
  • Bank regulatory and compliance training (including BSA)
  • Cross‑training across multiple departments
  • Exposure to AI tools and emerging technologies to support productivity, research, and operational efficiency
