About the role
The Maître d supports the Restaurant General Manager in leading Evelyn's Restaurant, the signature restaurant of Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale. This role ensures that every dining experience reflects the relaxed sophistication and coastal elegance of our property. With its modern Mediterranean-inspired menu, vibrant flavors, and oceanfront setting, Evelyn's is a destination for both hotel guests and the local community.
The Maître d is responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant, providing hands-on leadership to the service team, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring consistent delivery of Four Seasons' world-renowned service standards. This role requires a strong sense of hospitality, a genuine passion for food and beverage, and the ability to inspire a team in creating memorable moments.
What you will do
• Oversee the flow of the dining room and coordinate seating to ensure smooth service.
• Partner closely with restaurant managers, servers, sommeliers, bartenders, and culinary leadership throughout service.
• Monitor table pacing to optimize the guest experience without compromising service quality.
• Maintain exceptional standards of presentation throughout the dining room.
• Assist management during peak service periods to ensure operational excellence.
• Manage the reservation book to maximize seating efficiency while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.
• Anticipate guest preferences and accommodate special requests whenever possible.
• Build lasting relationships with returning guests by recognizing preferences and celebrating special occasions.
• Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
What you bring
• 3-5 years of experience as a Maître d', Lead Host, or Guest Relations professional in luxury, fine dining, or Michelin-starred/Michelin Recommended restaurants.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational abilities with outstanding attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Experience with reservation management systems such as OpenTable, Resy.
