Bankruptcy Associate

Based in Hackensack, NJ, we are a highly respected Am Law 200 law firm known for its client-focused approach collaborative culture and commitment to delivering practical results. The Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring team is expanding and seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Associate to join a growing team handling sophisticated Chapter 11 restructurings creditors' rights matters and complex insolvency transactions. This role is ideal for a seasoned restructuring attorney who values high-level transactional work collegial mentorship and long-term professional stability within a supportive firm environment. This position offers a competitive compensation range of $220,000–$380,000+.


Responsibilities

  • Advise on and manage complex Chapter 11 restructurings distressed transactions and high-level insolvency matters with accuracy and efficiency
  • Draft and argue motions pleadings and other legal documents in support of bankruptcy litigation and adversary proceedings
  • Represent creditors debtors and other stakeholders across a broad range of restructuring and insolvency matters in coordination with a well-established restructuring team
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on bankruptcy and restructuring issues while contributing to client strategy and communications throughout the matter lifecycle



Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-approved law school with active New Jersey Bar membership in good standing; strong academic credentials required
  • 3+ years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience with demonstrated exposure to Chapter 11 matters adversary proceedings and creditor/debtor representation
  • Strong organizational communication and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment
  • Superior motion practice drafting and oral advocacy skills with the ability to manage complex matters both independently and collaboratively
