  • Proven Office 365 administration experience.
  • Practical experience managing the internal and external security of cloud applications and databases.
  • Experience working in a team that delivers high-availability services.
  • Practical experience using PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 products, including Azure, Azure Active Directory, SharePoint Online, and Exchange Online.
  • Strong Active Directory experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to determine the source of technical issues and identify effective resolutions.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, customer service, record keeping, and cost-control skills.

What You Will Do:
The Office 365 Engineer is responsible for supporting the organization's O365 infrastructure and ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. This role supports the implementation, improvement, maintenance, rollout, and upgrades of O365 systems, software, and databases. The Office 365 Engineer also provides trend analysis to the service management team to support informed decisions regarding resource management.
  • Maintain applications and systems that protect organizational data from unauthorized access.
  • Process user access requests for applications and systems using established procedures and service-level expectations.
  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of access to corporate and customer applications, databases, servers, and other systems.
  • Respond to Service Desk requests, including password resets and account lockouts, and escalate issues requiring higher-level support.
  • Maintain and support IT security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with planning, designing, and implementing security solutions for new applications or system implementations.
  • Support enforcement of system security administration and user-access policies based on industry-standard best practices.
  • Promote security awareness among employees.
  • Coordinate security and system support activities with the Help Desk, Network Services, and other Information Systems teams.
  • Help ensure the security, integrity, and privacy of Baton Rouge General data by following organizational policies and procedures.
  • Proactively monitor Azure alerts, O365 systems, and database systems to help ensure secure and reliable services.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Office 365 applications, including Teams and SharePoint.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users across the organization.
  • Monitor and complete customer cases, including break/fix issues, change requests, and service requests, in accordance with customer support policies.
  • Monitor tickets, email, and voicemail for outstanding issues and respond in a timely manner to support excellent customer service.
  • Communicate O365 system and database issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Work with IT management and customers to prioritize requests.
  • Understand customer business processes and provide support aligned with operational needs.
  • Stay informed of current and future software releases and related technologies.
  • Research developments in hardware, software, and computer-related procedures and methods.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical experts to ensure programs and applications meet customer needs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
