General Manager – Des Moines, IA

Clean Response, the Twin Cities’ premier independent restoration contractor, has an opportunity for our newest expansion in the Des Moines, IA market!

We are looking for a dedicated and driven professional who acts with integrity, values the importance of being a team player, and strives for excellence in all that they do. We are seeking a General Manager that can take a hands-on approach to lead day-to-day operations for a fast-paced restoration business. This role is ideal for someone who can balance big-picture thinking with rolling up their sleeves to get things done. You’ll oversee operations, drive financial performance, lead a strong team, and help scale the business.

Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations across mitigation, cleaning, and reconstruction
  • Ensure projects run efficiently, safely, and on schedule
  • Track and improve key metrics like cycle times, margins, and customer satisfaction
  • Implement systems and processes to support growth
  • Manage water, mold, fire, and storm damage projects from start to finish.
  • Schedule crews and coordinate subcontractors when needed.
  • Maintain excellent communication with customers, insurance adjusters, and property managers.
  • Estimate jobs and prepare project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with IICRC standards and company procedures.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor field personnel.
  • Help grow the business through exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

Financial Oversight

  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and overall financial performance
  • Improve job costing and ensure projects hit margin goals
  • Report on performance and identify areas for improvement

Team Leadership

  • Start up the new office and hire team
  • Lead and develop department managers and staff

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-7+ years of leadership experience in restoration, construction, or related industry
  • Familiarity with Des Moines restoration marked and strong relationships with industry stakeholders.
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to drive results while building a strong team culture
  • Restoration industry experience required.
  • Management or supervisory experience required.
  • IICRC Certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Xactimate experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

Preferred:

· Degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field
