Job description

Growth Opportunity

This role exists because our client is growing quickly.

Many of the projects associated with new restaurant openings are currently being handled by a senior engineer, and the increasing number of locations has created an opportunity for someone to take ownership of that work.

You'll be supported by established documentation, proven checklists, and a team that has already built and supported more than 50 restaurant locations.

As you learn the environment, you'll begin to anticipate issues, solve problems independently, and develop deep expertise in restaurant technology, infrastructure deployments, networking, Microsoft 365, and multi-site operations.

This isn't a traditional support role. It's an opportunity to become the technical owner of a rapidly expanding restaurant environment while freeing senior engineers to focus on higher-level initiatives.

You'll split your time between:

  • Three days per week at the client's corporate office
  • One day per week at the Sidewerks office
  • One day per week working remotely
  • Restaurant locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area

This position also participates in an after-hours on-call rotation every three weeks.

What You'll DoNew Restaurant Openings
  • Lead IT buildouts for new restaurant locations from pre-opening through go-live exercising independent judgment on technology architecture and deployment strategy across the 50-unit portfolio
  • Deploy and configure networks, wireless systems, endpoints, and POS-adjacent technology
  • Follow established deployment standards and implementation checklists
  • Coordinate with restaurant managers, contractors, vendors, and third-party providers
Infrastructure Projects
  • Execute network upgrades across existing locations
  • Coordinate firewall replacements and wireless improvements
  • Manage hardware refresh projects
  • Support system migrations and technology rollouts
Restaurant Technology
  • Perform POS programming and menu updates
  • Deploy POS changes across multiple locations
  • Troubleshoot restaurant technology and coordinate with POS vendors when necessary
Microsoft 365 Administration
  • Manage user accounts and permissions
  • Support configuration cleanup projects
  • Maintain access management and security best practices

Vendor and Client Coordination

  • Work directly with internet providers, hardware vendors, POS providers, and SaaS vendors and make autonomous decisions on POS-adjacent technology configuration
  • Keep projects moving by coordinating timelines and following up on outstanding issues with discretion over rollout sequencing and risk mitigation
  • Build strong relationships with restaurant managers and corporate staff

Support and Escalation

  • Provide on-site and remote support when necessary
  • Respond to priority incidents according to established service-level expectations negotiating solutions and escalation paths
  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers
  • Maintain accurate documentation with discretion over access policies and security implementation
What We're Looking ForRequired Experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on IT experience
  • Experience with infrastructure deployments, technology rollouts, or implementation projects
  • Working knowledge of:
    • TCP/IP networking
    • Wi-Fi technologies
    • Firewalls
    • Microsoft 365 administration
    • Endpoint management
The Ideal Candidate Will Also Have Experience With:
  • Multi-site environments
  • MSP environments
  • Field services
  • Retail, hospitality, or restaurant technology
  • POS systems
  • New location openings
  • Vendor management
Success in This Role Requires Someone Who Is:
  • Highly organized
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Professional and polished
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • An excellent communicator
  • Comfortable interacting with executives, restaurant managers, vendors, and end users
  • Self-motivated and accountable
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel regularly between restaurant locations
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation every three weeks
What We Offer
  • $78,000-$85,000 annual salary
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Paid holidays
  • Tools and equipment provided
  • Direct mentorship from senior engineers
  • A clear path toward more advanced infrastructure and engineering roles

If you enjoy project work, like seeing tangible results, and want to build broad experience across networking, cloud, endpoints, restaurant technology, and infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
