Job description

Fred Olivieri Construction Company is a trusted, family-owned, general contractor and construction manager based in North Canton, OH. Our work spans three specialized divisions-retail, restaurant, and commercial-and we are licensed to operate in 38 states across the country. About the Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple construction projects simultaneously. This includes all aspects of pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases for retail and restaurant construction projects. The position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Site Superintendent in coordination with the General Superintendents

Duties/Responsibilities:
Project Management
  • Establish and communicate project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards with Project Team to specifically include subcontractors.
  • Prepare, update, and communicate project schedule and material delivery dates.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with client, architect and/or engineer to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor and control day-to-day construction activities through communication with on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule, in accordance with construction documents and within budget.
  • Proactively investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop project budget and communicate changes to client and corporate executives in a timely manner.
  • Represent company in project and strategy meetings with client representatives.
  • Manage and understand all aspects of contract administration to include Client Contract terms, subcontractor contract agreements, change order processing, Client and subcontractor payment schedules, rental equipment payments, expenses, etc. to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with the client.
  • Reinforce company process and procedures to site superintendents
  • Reinforce safety requirements

Estimating
  • Work with Chief Estimator to review scope of work and prepare invitation to bid
  • Review total project subcontractor quotes, labor, material, equipment costs and general conditions prior to bid submission to clients as required
  • Provide detailed update on capability of subcontractors

General
  • Support Director of Construction and Vice President in preparation and delivery of customer service initiatives
  • Responsible for other project duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Project Management software systems (Procore experience preferred)

  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently as required by project needs

Education and Experience:
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager (Retail or Restaurant preferred)
  • Prior experience in the construction industry with retail/restaurant projects
  • Prior experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Professional office environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
  • Able to navigate active construction sites occasionally

Travel:
  • Regular, nationwide travel is required for this position. There is frequent travel to project sites which may involve overnight stays across the nation.
