Job Title: Restaurant General Manager
Job Summary:
The Restaurant General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high-quality customer service, managing staff, and maintaining profitability. The GM leads the team, oversees financial performance, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, and creates a positive dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
• Oversee all restaurant operations, including front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH).
• Ensure a high standard of food quality, presentation, and service.
• Monitor inventory, place orders, and manage vendor relationships.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with health codes.
Financial Management
• Develop and manage budgets, including labor costs, food costs, and overall profitability.
• Analyze sales reports, implement strategies to increase revenue, and control expenses.
• Handle cash management, payroll, and financial reporting.
Staff Leadership & Development
• Hire, train, and develop employees to ensure a high-performing team.
• Create work schedules and manage labor to meet operational needs.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
• Foster a positive and motivating work environment.
Customer Service & Guest Experience
• Ensure an excellent guest experience through high-quality service and hospitality.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner.
• Maintain a strong presence on the floor to engage with guests and staff.
Marketing & Community Engagement
• Develop and implement marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers.
• Build relationships with the local community to enhance the restaurant’s reputation.
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain safety protocols and emergency preparedness plans.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to uphold standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven experience in restaurant management (general manager, assistant manager, or similar role).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Knowledge of restaurant technology (POS systems, reservation software, etc.).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
