What is a restaurant electrical job?

Restaurant electrical jobs involve the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within restaurants. This includes wiring, lighting, kitchen equipment, ventilation systems, and safety devices such as emergency lighting and fire alarms. Electricians in this field ensure that all electrical systems comply with safety codes and operate efficiently to support daily restaurant operations. Lead Commercial Electrical Field Operations with Patriot Contracting – Apply Today!

Position Title: Field Electrical Superintendent

Company Name: Patriot Contracting LLC

Salary Range: 85,000–100,000 per year, based on experience, plus bonus

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Fairfax, VA and Northern Virginia

Industry: Commercial Electrical Contracting

Job Overview

Patriot Contracting LLC is hiring a Field Electrical Superintendent to lead our commercial electrical field operation across active projects in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC.

This is not a single-project superintendent position. You will oversee manpower across active jobs, manage and hold foremen accountable, and take ownership of whether electrical work is completed safely, on schedule, and within the labor margin we bid.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced commercial electrical leader who can work independently, make sound field decisions, and lead people without requiring daily supervision. You will also oversee the service side of the electrical operation, including dispatch, customer relationships, and service calls when capacity allows.

Who We Are

Patriot Contracting LLC is a general contractor specializing in commercial, industrial, and federal projects. We are a close-knit team where your contributions matter, your growth is supported, and your leadership is encouraged. Many team members have been with us for over 10–20 years—a testament to our culture of loyalty, mentorship, and opportunity.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a capable Field Electrical Superintendent who can bring leadership, accountability, and strong commercial electrical experience to our field operation. Learn more at www.patriot-contracting.com.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical field operations across multiple active commercial projects in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC.
  • Manage manpower and crew assignments across active jobs.
  • Lead, mentor, and hold electrical foremen and field personnel accountable.
  • Monitor labor hours against project budgets and take corrective action when work begins to fall behind.
  • Review commercial drawing sets and identify conflicts before installation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field teams.
  • Ensure electrical work is completed safely, on schedule, and to company quality standards.
  • Address jobsite issues, schedule conflicts, and coordination concerns directly with general contractors and project teams.
  • Support hiring, development, discipline, and performance management of field employees.
  • Oversee service dispatch and customer relationships.
  • Perform service calls when needed and when capacity allows.
  • Participate in internal training and development programs to support continued leadership growth.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of commercial electrical experience.
  • 3 years of experience running multiple crews or projects at one time.
  • Active Virginia Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Virginia Master Electrician license preferred; paid exam preparation and licensing support available for the right candidate.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Experience hiring, developing, disciplining, and managing field employees.
  • Ability to read full commercial drawing sets and identify installation conflicts.
  • Experience managing labor hours against budget and correcting slipping jobs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions without daily supervision.
  • Experience working with multiple general contractors is preferred.
  • Commercial office, restaurant, automotive, healthcare, interior tenant improvement, or base-building experience is preferred.

Benefits

  • Medical & Dental Insurance
  • Retirement Savings Program / 401(k) Match
  • Paid Time Off – Holidays, Vacation, Sick Days
  • Paid Training & Certifications
  • Paid Licensing and Exam Preparation
  • Take-Home Company Truck
