Job description

CULVER'S

General Manager

Franchisee/Mentee Development Fast-Track

We’re not just filling a management role. We’re identifying the next generation of Culver’s owner/operators — leaders who will one day put their name on a

restaurant and never look back. If you’ve built a team, driven KPI and P&L metrics, and carry the conviction that a great restaurant doesn’t happen by accident, this is where your journey to Culver's ownership begins.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Built for operators, not administrators.

You’ll step in as General Manager of a Culver’s restaurant — fully accountable for the guest experience, the financial performance, and the development of every person on your team. From day one you’ll be treated like an operator: real P&L exposure, a seat at the district leadership table, and a credible, structured pathway toward restaurant ownership. Our group is built for people who want to grow. The GMs around you are building their own paths. The DM you’ll work alongside is invested in your trajectory. And the Culver’s brand — ButterBurgers, Fresh Frozen Custard, and genuine hospitality that has kept guests coming back for decades — gives you one of the most trusted guest experiences in QSR to operate with.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Three domains. Full accountability.

Your People

Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team. Build your bench. Create shift leaders and assistant managers who go on to lead their own restaurants. Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and coaching conversations that move people forward — not just address problems.

Your P&L

Own every line of your restaurant’s financial performance — labor, food cost, and overall profitability. You’ll have full visibility into your numbers and be expected to have a point of view on all of them. Run it like your name is on the deed.

Your Guests

Set and enforce the standard for hospitality, speed, and accuracy every single shift. Lead a team that delivers a consistently exceptional experience — fast, friendly, and accurate. Every guest who walks in should leave wondering why every restaurant can’t be this good.

Beyond the three core domains: bi-monthly manager meetings, performance reviews, inventory and product rotation, precision scheduling against sales forecasts, and serve as the operational expert your team comes to first — not last.

THE WINNING PROFILE

Rare. But we know it when we see it.

We’ve hired talented managers before. What we’re looking for is something rarer — a leader with an ownership mindset who doesn’t need reminding that the buck stops with them.

•     You talk about past restaurants using “I built,” “I fixed,” “I decided.” You own the outcomes — good and bad.

•     You’re in the numbers. Labor %, food cost variance, drive-thru window time — you have a point of view on all three.

•     You develop people deliberately. Someone on your team right now is better because of what you did, not what happened to them.

•     You close the loop. When something is broken, you find it, fix it, and make sure it stays fixed. You don’t wait to be told twice.

•     You’ve absorbed hard feedback and used it. You can name the last time a tough conversation made you better.

•     You have a “why.” The idea of owning something — being fully accountable, fully rewarded — isn’t abstract to you. It’s the direction you’re already moving.

HOW WE MEASURE SUCCESS

We manage by scorecard, not by gut.

Here’s what’s on yours — and what separates a good GM from someone on an ownership track.

Labor %:  Standard < 22%  |  Above Standard < 21%  |  Efficiency by design

Food Cost Variance:  Standard < 1%  |  Above Standard < 0.5%  |  Zero waste mindset

Drive-Thru Speed (5-min):  Standard < 35%  |  Above Standard < 20%  |  Guest-first urgency

SMG Guest Score:  Standard > 80%  |  Above Standard > 84%  |  Raving fans, every visit

Above Standard isn’t the ceiling — it’s the baseline for the development track. Candidates who consistently operate in the Significantly

Above Standard range are the first to enter franchisee conversations.

THE PATH TO OWNERSHIP

A structured pathway, not a vague promise.

Culver’s is a franchise brand built by owner/operators. The people who own restaurants today started exactly where you’re standing. This is how we get you there:

01  GM Training

Unlock: GM Your First Culver's

Where your extensive GM and leadership background are elevated by learning the Culver’s SOPs and Best Practices.

02  GM Excellence

Unlock: Bonus + Comp Review

Consistently meet or exceed metrics, maintain a winning culture and achieve full operational autonomy. Your ownership foundation.

03  Ownership Track

Unlock: Franchisee Discovery

P&L mastery, culture carrier, scalable systems builder. The conversation starts here with your owner, district manager and your Culver’s FBC.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US

We invest in the right people.

•     Competitive salary with performance-based bonus tied to your scorecard

•     Direct District Manager mentorship — structured, consistent, invested in your growth

•     Full P&L visibility from day one — we teach the business, not just the job

•     Peer GM network across a multi-unit Central Florida district

•     Structured 30/60/90-day onboarding with clear milestones, not just orientation

•     A formal development pathway with visible, achievable benchmarks toward ownership

•     Health benefits, paid time off, and a culture where your best nights are your busiest ones

Ready to run something that’s yours?

What have you built — and what are you building toward?

In 1984, Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig’s parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culver's in the family’s beloved hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin, and began serving ButterBurgers® and Frozen Custard.
Craveable as our signature combination is, the Culver family knew right away that although the business is centered around the food, it is really about the people. While folks can vividly recall the first time they bit into a ButterBurger or tasted a scoop of rich, creamy Fresh Frozen Custard, it’s our way of welcoming guests that truly makes Culver’s delicious.
