Job description

The Area Restaurant Leader (Area Coach) is responsible for overseeing a group of KFC restaurants, driving operational excellence, financial performance, and people development. This role acts as the direct link between the Director of Operations and store-level management, ensuring consistency in execution, leadership accountability, and team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Execution
  • Oversee daily operations for assigned restaurants to ensure adherence to KFC standards.
  • Verify all units meet expectations in speed with service, cleanliness, food safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct weekly store visits, perform performance evaluations, and provide coaching feedback, provide schedule weekly.
  • Leadership Development
  • Train and support RGMs in leadership skills, labor control, and effective scheduling.
  • Identify future leaders and implement development plans for Shift Supervisors and Assistant Managers.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings with RGMs to review key metrics and individual performance.
  • Financial Performance
  • Analyze weekly sales, labor, and food cost reports to identify variances.
  • Collaborate with RGMs to create action plans that drive profitability and reduce waste.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, ordering practices, and cash handling compliance.
  • Guest Experience & Brand Compliance
  • Ensure all restaurants are ROCC-ready at all times.
  • Validate checklists, training logs, and brand certification completion.
  • Follow up on inspection results and ensure corrective action is taken within deadlines.
  • Accountability & Communication
  • Confirm RGM schedules weekly and validate proper labor deployment.
  • Escalate major issues or violations to the Director of Operations.
  • Support company initiatives such as promotions, training rollouts, and safety campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, HR policies, and brand certification standards.
