Job description

Job Title: Janitorial WorkerJob Description

Join our team as a Janitorial Worker at various rest areas, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and safety. Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning bathrooms, walkways, emptying trash cans, and picking up litter. During the winter months, you will also be responsible for snow removal from sidewalks.

Responsibilities
  • Clean bathrooms and walkways to ensure they are hygienic and presentable.
  • Empty trash cans and manage waste disposal effectively.
  • Pick up trash and maintain the overall cleanliness of the rest area.
  • Remove snow from sidewalks during winter to ensure safe passage for visitors.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of previous cleaning experience.
  • Proficiency in janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing.
  • Strong customer service skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and mid-shift as needed.
  • Willingness to work holidays and weekends as this is a 24/7 operation.

Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic environment at rest areas with openings for multiple shifts. Opportunities are available at Carson and Goochland for 3rd, 1st, and 2nd shifts, including mid-shift. Radford Rest Area has openings for 1st and 2nd shifts. This position requires working during holidays and weekends as part of a 24/7 operation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
