Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Transportation Design Engineer for immediate employment in our Columbus, Ohio or Indianapolis, Indiana office. The Successful candidate will have demonstrated professional experience in a wide roadway and highway projects.
Below are a few of the key qualifications they are looking for:
  • Perform complex engineering road and highway tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
  • Extract engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Frequently interface with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and other Engineers working on the same project.
  • May be required to sign and seal documents as the professional Engineer of Record, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Design experience in structures and/or highway Department of Transportation (DOT) projects
  • PE License, NCEES certified with ability to be licensed in any State

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 6+ years of related work experience.
  • PE in Indiana and or Ohio preferred.
  • Experience with design and plan development for DOT and transit projects; INDOT and ODOT preferred.
  • Proficiency with OpenRoads, MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Diversified knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, design concepts and construction techniques.
