The NISC IV program at Leidos has an opening for a part-time Human Resource Assistant with prior federal agency experience specifically payroll. The selected resource will perform basic, routine tasks and will utilize automated tools and software in the performance of duties/responsibilities. ย Work will be performed under close direction of a manager, team leader, or more experienced staff.
Specific duties for the position include:

  • Serve as liaison between Shared services center, the HRSDs, Benefits Operations Center, ย FAA and the DOI Payroll Operations Division to resolve issues related to transactional processing and ensure the accurate processing and payment of FAA employees.
  • Utilizing a personnel and payroll actions data system to input and process a variety of actions including changes to employee benefits, work schedules, union dues initiation/revocation, Voluntary Leave Transfer Program (VLTP) balances, Thrift Savings Plan deductions, and other voluntary payroll deductions.
  • Maintain an overall working knowledge and the ability to perform each function within his/her area.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by effectively communicating and interacting with fellow team members.
  • Work independently as well as with other team members to accurately complete all assignments in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Frequently refers problems and work issues to the manager and/or team leads when guidance is not available or applicable.
  • Handles and resolves issues relative to a wide range of pay and non-pay actions covering several pay systems to include General Schedule, Federal Wage System, Core Compensation and Air Traffic Pay Plan.
  • Manages the Wednesday process to ensure notification of timekeepers to advise on coding issues and remedial actions to resolve pay errors or problems identified by DOI or employees prior to final pay calculations.
  • Advises HRSDs, LR, and regional counsels during development and implementation of third-party settlements and agreements ensuring actions are processes IAW agreements and assists with affecting back pays.
