DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager


SUMMARY:

Ruttgerโ€™s Bay Lake Resort is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Painter to help maintain the appearance and quality of our guest accommodations, public spaces, restaurants, recreational facilities, and resort buildings. The Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paints and finishes, and assisting with general maintenance projects to ensure a welcoming and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous painting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance and repair practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming.
  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Repair drywall, woodwork, and other surfaces prior to painting.
  • Maintain resort buildings, guest rooms, cabins, restaurants, and common areas.
  • Inspect painted surfaces and perform touch-ups as needed.
  • Operate and maintain painting tools and equipment safely.
  • Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Assist the maintenance department with seasonal projects and general repairs when needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project timelines and material needs.
  • Provide excellent service and professionalism while working around guests and resort operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to use ladders, scaffolding, and painting equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment.
  • Stand; walk; sit; kneel; lift; push; pull; reach with arms and hands; move objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
