Internal Medicine - Hospitalist

Practice Details

Marshfield Medical Center - Rice Lake seeks a full-time Hospitalist that is BC/BE in Internal Medicine to join our Hospital Medicine department. The scope of patients on the Hospitalist Service is broad-ranging and includes medical consultation for surgical and non-surgical subspecialty patients including Med Surg, ICU and step down units.
- Schedule is 12-hour shifts of both 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am
- Approximately 14 shifts a month, this is not a standard 7 on 7 off role
- MMC - Rice Lake is a Trauma Level 4 medical campus with a 40 bed, full-service hospital
- 5 bed Open ICU
- Performing procedures is not a requirement

With a population of just over 9,000, Rice Lake has many of the offerings of city life, nestled among some of the most beautiful features that nature has to offer. The district consists of six elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Rice Lake is a popular summer resort area as well as a playground for those who enjoy swimming, boating, water-skiing, and fishing. Held each winter just north of Rice Lake is the biggest cross-country skiing event in the nation, the Birkebeiner. Culturally, Rice Lake offers the Red Barn Players Summer Theatre and Art Center, as well as the Northern Star Theatre. In the summer, many residents of Rice Lake enjoy the splash pad, Turtleback golf course, and the Moon Lake Park with soccer fields. Fun Fact: Each summer, enjoy all that the city's 10-day Aquafest festival has to offer, such as national musical acts, carnival rides, food, and family activities.

Job Description

The Adult Hospitalist Physician provides comprehensive, inpatient care for adult patients in a hospital setting. This role focuses on the management of acute and chronic medical conditions, coordination of care with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered outcomes throughout hospitalization.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Successful completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Current medical license in each state of practice.State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine; or Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine; or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada). Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists
