Job description

Position Summary/ Objectives

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for supporting daily operations in a GMP-regulated medical device manufacturing environment, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient production of high-quality products. This role can oversee assigned product lines across both high-mix/low-volume and low-mix/high-volume manufacturing, driving performance against Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) objectives while maintaining adherence to process controls, environmental requirements, and quality systems. This position is located in Allendale with travel to Oakland when needed.

Essential Job Functions:
  • The Manufacturing Supervisor coordinates production activities, ensures accuracy of batch records, and contributes to improvements in yield, scrap reduction, and overall operational efficiency.
  • This position serves as a leader of product line leads and provides direct oversight of operators where applicable, focused on building strong, accountable teams and maintaining effective communication on the manufacturing floor and with crossfunctional partners.
  • The Manufacturing Supervisor reinforces standard work, escalates issues as needed, and helps sustain continuous improvement efforts through clear feedback loops and daytoday execution.
  • The role ensures timely communication and escalation of production, quality, and personnel issues to the Production Manager to support rapid decisionmaking and maintain operational continuity.
  • Education, Experience and Certification:
  • High School Diploma (or GED) with 5 years medical device experience, OR 4 years medical device experience and AAS degree, OR 2 years’ experience and a BS degree, OR a master’s degree in the biological sciences with 1year of experience.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision and execute within established procedures.
  • Ability to identify problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and model professional, accountable, and respectful behavior.
  • Ability to drive execution against production targets, including yield performance and scrap reduction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including timely escalation of issues and clear crossfunctional coordination.
