JD:
Residuals BA responsible for developing and managing a leading entertainment studios Participations and Residuals systems and various other studio technology products. Provide functional, technical, and residuals/participations expertise for building and supporting the Participations and Residual products at the studio. The candidate will support the new product development as well as the day-to-day maintenance of various studio technology products. The candidate should be able to effectively work with the business users to determine business requirements and translate them into functional requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Work as a strategic partner of the business and analyze current state business process flows and data architecture of multiple systems
• Be the liaison between delivery team and client business and technology stakeholders
• Keep alignment with business groups on strategic vision and business priorities
• Understand technology capabilities required to support business needs
• Product development, business process and requirement
• Translate business needs into requirements and work with development team through the entire project lifecycle (acting as a Product Owner / Business Analyst)
• Work with the business to define participations and residual requirements, and provide insight on various guild rules
• Launch new products and features, test product functions and performance, and iterate quickly. Oversee product development and release lifecycle. Ensure on time delivery of new product and/or features
• Lead business meetings/interviews to understand business process, issues, and requirements
• Create user stories, process modeling, data flow diagrams, reporting and dashboard requirements
• Proactively propose creative ideas to apply system solutions on business problems. Drive innovation and efficiency by implementing automated solutions
• Work closely with architect, UX and developers to translate business requirements into technology design and solution
• Participate in sprint planning and other project activities required by Agile software development methodology
• Define business rules, screen mockup and system functionality
• Lead user acceptance testing of applications to ensure the quality of the delivered requirements and overall health of the system
• Create user manuals and/or training documents. Conduct user trainings and drive smooth and efficient implementation of changes
• Production Support and propose solutions to support tickets
• Support business users on system configuration, admin and other business activities
• Identify system issues, trouble shoot and analyze potential solutions including workarounds
• Work with business users to document, manage and prioritize bug fixing and enhancements
• Work with architect and developers to test and release new system functions
Basic Qualifications:
• 7 years of experience as product owner, business analyst and/or system analyst with end-to-end system implementation experience
• 5 years of experience in working with requirements and design on participations and residuals projects
• 3 years of leading a participation and/or residuals project implementation
• Deep understanding of residuals system functionality and/or participation system functionality
• Deep understanding of participations and residuals calculations, monthly financial close, business rules as well as studio finance and accounting in general
• Experience developing/supporting participations and/or residuals systems
• Experience delivering new products from conception to launch as well as managing products post go-live
• Experience with SDLC (software development life cycle) and/or Agile methodology
• Experience in creating, maintaining and supporting all application development artifacts including user stories, process flows, screen mockups, data diagrams, business rule definitions, design documents, report requirements and dashboard requirements
• Proficient with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent preferred
• Strong analytical and system functional skills, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of seeing tasks through to successful completion
• Ability to break down complex problems into steps and drive product development
• Comfort working in a technical environment and Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work independently, prioritize and juggle multiple deadlines and projects while keeping peers, partners and supervisor abreast of activities
• Certified agile product manager preferred
• Consulting Experience preferred
• Strong Knowledge of SQL preferred
• Experience working in the entertainment industry preferred
