What You Will Do:

We are seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join our Residential Design Group in our Loudoun office. This role is ideal for a motivated and innovative engineer with residential structural design experience who thrives in a collaborative environment.

In this position, you will serve as a Project Manager for a wide variety of single-family residential projects, including complex renovations, additions, and large high-end custom homes. You will take ownership of technical design, client communication, and project execution from concept through construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and design structural systems for residential projects, including renovations, additions, and custom homes.
  • Develop and analyze 3D structural models using industry-standard analysis software, including FORTE.
  • Produce and oversee construction documents in Revit.
  • Coordinate directly with architects, builders, and homeowners to ensure design intent and project alignment.
  • Perform site visits, field observations, and prepare detailed field reports.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with firm standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and technical standards within the Residential Design Group.


What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis from an ABET-accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3–8 years of structural design experience with a strong focus on residential projects.
  • Working knowledge of Revit required.
  • Experience developing 3D structural analysis models (FORTE experience preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
