A residential aide assists clients with performing personal care and household duties, such as grooming, cooking, and cleaning. Often working with clients of advanced age or poor health, a residential aide also supports clients in running daily errands, attending doctor’s visits, and keeping the home stocked with food and toiletries. The residential aide may work for a home health agency or nursing home. In some cases, residential aides work as independent contractors, providing personal care services to clients through health care worker agencies.
