What is a resident program assistant?

Resident Program Assistants (RPAs) are student staff members who support residential life in college or university housing. They help create a positive living environment by organizing events, assisting with conflict resolution, and serving as a resource for residents. RPAs often work closely with Resident Advisors and housing staff to ensure students have a safe and supportive community. Their responsibilities can also include enforcing community standards and providing peer support.
