Job description

The Resident Care Coordinator role is responsible for providing assistance to residents in areas such as mealtime, bathing, and preparing for the day and evening as well as are responsible for providing guidance, leadership and training to current and new employees.

Resident Care Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities

This job description is not designed to cover a complete listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the position.

  • Responsible for the complete A.M. and P.M. care of residents.
  • Responsible for changing clientโ€™s soiled briefs.
  • Escort residents to and from meals, activities, appointments, etc.
  • Assist with showers and bathing.
  • Administering medications to residents.
  • Provide appropriate safety checks.
  • Provide light housekeeping of resident homes.
  • Prove and assist with oral care.
  • Assist with wound care as directed.
  • Assist residents with feedings and tube feedings.
  • Set up residentsโ€™ meals.
  • Encourage hydration of residents as needed.
  • Encourage socialization of residents and host activities.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the Aides.
  • Assist with training of new employees and retraining of current employees when applicable.
  • Be on call (rotated)
  • Assist in the disciplinary process of employees, participate in remediation, retraining efforts, etc.
  • Assist residents as needed and as directed by management and supervisor.
  • Will assist in the dining room during mealtimes and will assist with set up/clean up, taking meal/beverage orders, serving, bussing tables, etc.
  • Responsible for getting residents ready and to the lobby for scheduled internal and external appointments and activities.
  • Will assist with washing, drying, folding and returning laundry to the correct resident/location, as needed.
  • Will be trained on and aware of what constitutes a change in condition and report any suspected change to Wellness Director/Executive Director.
  • Comply with Residentsโ€™ Rights policy and Community and Employee Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
