How much do residency bcba jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 1, 2026, the average yearly pay for residency bcba in the United States is $89,075.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $74,000.00 and $90,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the difference between Residency BCBA vs BCBA?

AspectResidency BCBABCBA
CredentialsMaster's degree, BCBA certification, supervised experienceMaster's degree, BCBA certification, supervised experience
Work EnvironmentSupervising clients in clinics, homes, schoolsSupervising clients in clinics, homes, schools
Industry UsageOften used in clinical and educational settings with remote supervisionCommonly used across similar settings with in-person or remote supervision

The main difference between Residency BCBA and BCBA lies in the supervision structure. Residency BCBA programs typically involve a structured, supervised training period, often part of the certification process, whereas BCBA refers to the certified professional. Both roles require similar credentials and work in comparable environments, but Residency BCBA emphasizes the supervised training phase for certification.

Who makes more money, ABA or BCBA?

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) typically earns higher salaries than an ABA therapist or technician, as BCBA is a licensed, advanced credential requiring graduate-level education and supervision. BCBAs often work in clinical, educational, or consulting settings and have greater responsibilities, which are reflected in their higher compensation compared to entry-level ABA practitioners. Salary differences can vary based on experience, location, and work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Residency BCBA, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Residency BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), you need a graduate degree in behavior analysis or a related field, BCBA certification, and a solid understanding of behavioral assessment and intervention strategies. Familiarity with data collection software, electronic health records, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) tools is essential. Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills help BCBAs collaborate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. These competencies ensure effective treatment planning, client progress, and compliance with ethical and professional standards.

What are the typical challenges Residency BCBAs face when transitioning from supervision to independent case management?

Residency BCBAs often encounter challenges such as balancing multiple cases, managing their own schedules, and ensuring high-quality intervention plans without direct oversight. Transitioning to independent case management requires strong organizational skills and confidence in clinical decision-making. Additionally, Residency BCBAs must adapt to increased collaboration with families, school teams, and other professionals, while maintaining compliance with ethical and documentation standards. Support from mentors and ongoing professional development can help ease this transition.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Residency BCBA positions typically do not pay $2,000 a day; they usually offer annual salaries or hourly rates. High-paying roles in behavioral health or consulting, such as senior behavior analysts or specialized consultants, may reach that level with extensive experience and private contracts, but such earnings are uncommon for standard residency BCBA roles. Most jobs paying $2,000 daily are in executive, consulting, or specialized medical fields outside of typical behavior analysis positions.

What are Residency BCBAs?

Residency BCBAs are Board Certified Behavior Analysts who are participating in a post-certification residency program, typically within a clinical, educational, or healthcare setting. These residency programs are designed to provide advanced, supervised training and practical experience beyond initial certification. The goal is to help new BCBAs develop specialized skills, gain in-depth expertise in applied behavior analysis, and prepare for independent practice. Residents usually work under the guidance of experienced mentors and may focus on specific populations or intervention strategies. This hands-on experience is valuable for professional growth and career advancement.

What is the highest paying job for a BCBA?

The highest paying roles for a BCBA often include senior or supervisory positions such as Clinical Director or Director of Behavior Services, which can offer higher salaries due to increased responsibilities and experience. Additionally, BCBAs working in private practice or in specialized settings like healthcare or consulting tend to earn higher compensation. Advanced certifications, extensive experience, and leadership skills contribute to higher earning potential in these roles.

What other jobs can you do as a BCBA?

A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) can work in various roles such as behavior consultant, behavior analyst, program supervisor, or autism specialist. They often work in schools, clinics, or private practice, applying behavioral assessment and intervention techniques, and may supervise RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians).
