We combine clinical-grade whole genome sequencing, advanced AI methods for genome interpretation, and seamless digital tools for doctors and patients to order and access results. Our team is composed of seasoned entrepreneurs, scientists, and operators, and we're backed by top-tier investors.

Position Overview:

MyOme is seeking a Scientist II to join our research wet lab team and help drive the development, optimization, and validation of next-generation sequencing (NGS) assays. You will work closely with Clinical Operations, Bioinformatics, and Quality teams to bring new sequencing-based tests from concept through verification and validation.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and execute structured development experiments including optimization, titrations, and bridging studies
  • Contribute to transitioning workflows from R&D into standardized or regulated environments (e.g., CLIA/CAP-ready processes)
  • Collaborate with the bioinformatics team to analyze results including QC metrics, run acceptance criteria, and end-to-end workflow performance to drive data-informed decisions
  • Author and review SOPs, batch records, validation plans and validation reports
  • Evaluate new reagents, instruments, and technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate

What You'll Need:

  • M.S. with 4+ years, or B.S. with 6+ years of hands-on wet lab experience in molecular biology, genomics, biochemistry, or a related discipline. Ph.D. with 1+ years of relevant industry experience also considered.
  • Proven, hands-on experience developing or optimizing NGS assays (e.g. whole-genome sequencing, RNASeq, etc.) end-to-end — from extraction through library prep, sequencing, and QC interpretation.
  • Preference for R and Python experience to analyze downstream results
  • Proficiency with sequencing platforms (e.g., Illumina, ONT, PacBio) and common library preparation chemistries.
  • Strong working knowledge of DNA/RNA quantification and QC tools (e.g. Qubit, TapeStation/Bioanalyzer).
  • Skilled at experimental design and troubleshooting with strong documentation habits

Location, Compensation, and Benefits:

  • Location: Onsite at our Menlo Park, CA laboratory campus.
  • Compensation: Annual salary range is $130,000 - $160,000, based on experience.
