Description

The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease is seeking one full-time physician-scientist academic faculty members at the Assistant Professor level to develop an independent infectious diseases research program. Protected time for research and a start-up package appropriate to the research career development of the successful candidate will be provided.

The successful candidate will also have opportunities to join established investigative teams working on clinical, epidemiological, or translational research funded through grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, or the New York State Department of Health. Depending on the background and interests of candidates, research opportunities include working on projects through the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN), Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally for HIV/AIDS and Other Infections (ACTG), Vaccine Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU), CDC Emerging Infections Program, and/or community-based research through the Center for Community Practice. Clinical responsibilities include Infectious Diseases consultation and teaching in inpatient and outpatient settings at Strong Memorial Hospital and UR Medicine affiliates, which could include telemedicine.

Candidates must possess an MD, PhD degree, MD degree or equivalent, be eligible for a New York State medical license, have completed fellowship training in Infectious Diseases and be board-certified or board-eligible in the Infection Diseases specialty. Post-offer health assessment is also required.

Post offer Drug Screen and Health Assessment required

Compliance with University and New York State health requirements

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
