Provide services and support as a Archeological Study (Historian/GIS Specialist) in the Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Industry Sector focusing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as National Park Service (NPS) | Department of the Interior Located In Prince William County, Virginia and across the Region.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Historian & GIS Specialist
- Conduct historical research to support archaeological investigations and contextualize findings.
- Develop and manage GIS databases and create detailed maps illustrating archaeological site boundaries, locations, and survey areas.
- Coordinate with the Lead Archaeologist to integrate historical and GIS data into the Phase I Archaeological Survey Report.
- Prepare draft GIS layers for review by the NPS Cultural Resource GIS Data Manager and finalize them based on feedback.
- Ensure all GIS data conforms to NPS cultural resource data transfer standards and includes FGDC compliant metadata.
- Assist in preparing and delivering the final GIS layers and related documentation within 300 days of NTP.
