Job description

Position Summary 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety conscious R&D Chemical Technician to support our catalyst manufacturing operations. The R&D Chemical Technician supports Department Directors and Product Development Teams by conducting laboratory experiments, preparing chemical formulations, and maintaining accurate records as directed by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare chemical solutions, compounds, and samples according to established formulas and procedures
  • Assist in the design and execution of laboratory experiments and product trials
  • Collect, analyze, and document experimental data with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, perform routine experiments independently, and troubleshoot minor issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines
  • Support scale-up processes from lab to pilot or production levels
  • Collaborate with R&D scientists, quality control, and production teams
  • Maintain organized and accurate lab records, reports, and inventory of chemicals and supplies
  • Dispose of chemical waste according to environmental and safety regulations

Qualifications 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field
  • 1–3 years of laboratory experience (academic or industry) preferred
  • Familiarity with standard lab equipment and catalyst synthesis techniques.
  • Basic understanding of chemical safety standards (OSHA, SDS, PPE requirements)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow protocols and work both independently and in a team environment

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with catalyst synthesis
  • Knowledge of formulation development or product testing
  • Proficiency in data recording and reporting software
