Product Design Engineer (Composites) A&P Technology is a seventh generation, family-owned, world leading-producer of precision braided textiles. Our leadership in braiding technology is a direct result of our ongoing commitment to our customers and employees. Our modern facilities, state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, and industry-leading research and development capabilities reflect the innovations of our team members. Our braids are used in a variety of applications ranging from fan case containment for GE engines to Callaway golf clubs to jet engine stator vanes to prosthetics. Current R&D programs involve the use of braid in structures of unprecedented scale, such as military aircraft, rocket nozzles and commercial transport airframes.

A&P Technology's success has created the need for an additional Product Design Engineer. The role is primarily to connect current customers and potential customers to our braided product solutions and identify how these meet or exceed their technical objectives. This involves helping our customers to troubleshoot and create solutions for current products, as well as developing new products from scratch and following these through to production.

Responsibilities: Interface directly with customers to identify technical goals and identify or create braided solutions that exceed expectations Work alongside customers from the design phase to final braided product delivery including composite processing help and support Partner with internal resources (sales, marketing, quality, machine design, and manufacturing) to cohesively develop and optimize products from initial product design all the way through production, quality and sales Requires a hands-on approach to cooperatively develop products including outlining quality requirements as specified by customers to writing work instructions for production and identifying key pricing parameters Requirements: A strong troubleshooting mentality and hands on approach to finding solutions Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Composite Engineering 3+ Years of Experience in Composite Fabrication or Design and Analysis Experience in Composite Fabrication and Troubleshooting Familiarity with Solidworks / Catia, or similar CAD software Understanding of composite testing methods and application to software analysis Experience with Classical Lamination Theory and predicting basic composite properties Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and outline requirements A&P Technology is a fun and exciting place to work.
