Position Overview

The Director of Research & Development is a hands-on leader responsible for driving product development and executing technical innovations that align with marketing-led consumer insights. This role requires a deep technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to move products quickly from concept to commercialization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and work cross-functionally to deliver high-performance products.


Key Responsibilities

● Lead end-to-end product development, ensuring speed, technical excellence, and manufacturability.

● Partner with Marketing to translate innovation concepts into viable, high-performing products.

● Develop new formulations, line extensions, and product optimizations based on consumer needs.

● Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Quality to ensure seamless

production scale-up.

● Ensure all products meet licensor (P&G) expectations, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks.

● Provide technical problem-solving and rapid iteration of product solutions.

● Collaborate cross-functionality to refine product claims and performance.

● Stay ahead of emerging CPG technologies, ingredients, and industry trends to enhance innovation.

● Oversee daily R&D operations, ensuring efficiency and timely project execution.

● Implement streamlined R&D processes to maximize speed and effectiveness.

● Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation effectively.


Qualifications

● 10+ years in CPG R&D

● Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field (advanced degree preferred).

● Experience in fabric care, household cleaning, or similar CPG categories preferred.

● Proven track record in product formulation, development, and commercialization.

● Experience working with licensed brands and contract manufacturing is a plus.

● Hands-on leader with a strong technical foundation and problem-solving skills.

● Fast-paced, solutions-oriented thinker who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.

● Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, ensuring smooth teamwork with Marketing and

Operations.
