Position Summary
Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Business Development Associate to support the company's growth strategy by identifying, tracking, and coordinating business development activities across the federal government contracting market. This role will assist with opportunity research, pipeline management, market intelligence, capture support, and internal coordination with recruiting, proposal, and executive leadership teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the identification, qualification, and tracking of new business opportunities across relevant government and industry channels.
  • Conduct market research on agencies, competitors, contract vehicles, teaming partners, and upcoming procurements.
  • Maintain and update business development pipelines, trackers, and CRM records to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Monitor procurement portals, contract vehicle announcements, forecast tools, and other sources for relevant opportunities.
  • Assist with opportunity assessments, gate reviews, and internal business development meetings.
  • Coordinate with capture, proposal, recruiting, and operations teams to gather information and support pursuit activities.
  • Help prepare briefing materials, pipeline reports, capability information, and other internal business development documentation.
  • Support teaming outreach and partner coordination, including meeting scheduling, follow-up actions, and documentation.
  • Track key milestones, submission deadlines, and action items associated with business development and capture efforts.
  • Contribute to the development and organization of past performance, corporate capabilities, and related business development content.
  • Assist with conference, industry day, and customer engagement preparation as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of business development operations and company growth objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Government, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting business development, sales, recruiting, proposals, capture, or government contracting operations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to conduct research, synthesize findings, and present information clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams.
  • Professional judgment and ability to handle sensitive or proprietary information discreetly.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting business development activities in the federal government contracting market.
