Job description

Job Title: IT Contracts Manager Location: Vienna, VA Work Schedule: Hybrid, onsite 3 days a week Pay Rate: Open W2 and established 1099's (no c2c) Position Type: Multiyear Contract

This role requires someone with a minimum of 10 years of commercial (not federal/state government) IT contracts management experience. This Contract Manager role is responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle for the acquisition of goods and services, with a strong emphasis on IT-related contracts. The position involves drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts while ensuring favorable pricing, minimizing risk, and aligning vendor agreements with business objectives. The individual will work closely with business units, procurement, legal counsel, and vendors to develop acquisition strategies, conduct cost analyses, negotiate terms and pricing, manage contract modifications, and provide guidance on contractual and risk-related matters. Experience with IT services, software, hardware, SaaS, cloud services, and contract law is highly valued, and AI-related contracting knowledge is a plus. Candidates must be: 1. Familiar with contract terms and conditions including legal terms and conditions; 2. A ability to influence others; 3. Familiar with IT contracting including IT Services, hardware/software contracting, SaaS, and cloud services. AI knowledge is a plus; 4. Achieve savings for the company; 5. Ability to align with company objectives including the mission and vision. Responsibilities: • Support client’s business objectives by negotiating, executing, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts for the acquisition of goods and services • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts • Lead negotiations on contract modifications with stakeholder input • Provide assistance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters, requirements, risk management, and mitigation strategies • Ensure the level of effort and attention to detail is commensurate with the complexity, value, and risk associated with the acquisition • Establishes an acquisition strategy to include the type of contract and milestones, contractible requirements • Coordinates review of contracts or purchase agreements with Procurement Management and in conjunction with Office of General Counsel, as required. • In conjunction with the Business Unit, analyzes proposals. Performs cost or price analysis, including review of cost breakdowns to determine reasonableness. • In conjunction with the Business Unit, develops negotiation objectives and leads negotiations related to contract pricing, terms and conditions with potential contractors. As appropriate, confers with offices of General Counsel, and subject matter experts • Prior to contract execution, meets with Business Units and vendor and reviews key contract terms, conditions, and requirements including deliverables, and timelines • Interprets contract provisions for Business Units and provides appropriate guidance. • Leads negotiations on contract modifications • Closes out the contract or issues termination notices and reviews settlement proposals • Presents alternatives and recommendations to solve unique and complex problems • Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication • Anticipates issues and identifies solutions Qualifications/Education: • Minimum of 10 years of commercial (not federal/state government) contract management • Experience in contract law/ terms/conditions • Experience in acquisition planning, strategy development, negotiations, contract management and administration, pricing analysis, and acquisition related requirements • Significant knowledge of commercial and business practices to develop, execute and manage contracts • Significant knowledge evaluating and mitigating risk in contracts • Significant experience in written bid/proposal preparation • Skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions • Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills • Advanced verbal and written communication skills • Advanced knowledge of cost containment strategies • Ability to multitask and work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, ensuring timely completion of assignments and meeting established standards • Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Effective skill interacting tactfully and effectively in difficult situations • Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Contract Management, Information Technology, or related field System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
